Barbara Rae Hamilton, 80, Lusby

Barbara Rae Hamilton, 80, of Lusby and Lexington Park, formerly of Seat Pleasant, died June 15, 2012, at Chesapeake Shores Nursing Home, Lexington Park.

Born April 11, 1932, in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of the late Dorothy Virginia Donaldson Evans and the late Raymond Albert Evans.

She graduated from Roosevelt High School in the District and married her second husband, Bayard “Bud, Hambone” Neil Hamilton, at Oxon Hill United Methodist Church in 1956. She worked as a bookkeeper in the District and as a cafeteria manager for Prince George’s County schools for 12 years. She was a resident of Prince George’s County for 52 years and resided in Calvert County for seven years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her spouses, Walter Joseph Wiles, who died Dec. 7, 2000, and Bayard Neil Hamilton, who died Sept. 18, 2001.

She is survived by her children, Harry Raymond Wiles of St. Mary’s County, Renee Lee Neff and her husband, Robert of Calvert County, Steven Gail Hamilton of Crossville, Tenn., and Stephanie Louise Schmidt and her husband, David of Newburg; sister, Patricia Maude Tassa of Petaluma, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

A service celebrating her life was held June 22 at Bunky’s Charter Boats, Solomons. The Rev. Robert Wagner officiated. Burial was private.

Arrangements were handled by Rausch Funeral Home, Lusby.
