A man and woman from Lothian have been charged with stealing a cart full of merchandise July 13 from the Walmart on Acton Lane in Waldorf, police reported.
The store notified the Charles County Sheriff’s Office at 12:43 p.m. that David Chance McDonald, 28, and Linda Joanne Garner, 27 — both suspected of having previously stolen a cart full of merchandise the previous day — had returned to the store and were loading up another cart full of air conditioners, generators, chairs, gas trimmers, cellphones, safes, a glass table and other items.
Both McDonald and Garner left the store without paying for the items and were arrested by officers in the parking lot, police reported. The cart full of items was recovered.
Both were charged with two counts of theft of less than $1,000 and theft scheme of less than $1,000 and released.
