Barbara Ann “Barb” Facini, 54, of Hollywood, formerly of Forestville, died July 26, 2012, surrounded by her family in Washington, D.C.
Born July 21, 1958, in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of Gerald and Sally McBride.
She was the wife of Stephen “Steve” Facini, whom she married on March 3, 1984, in Forestville. She is survived by her sons, Matthew Facini (Jessica) of Owings Mills and David Facini (fiancee, Melissa Ridpath) of Hollywood; her granddaughter, Ava; and her sisters, Mary Ann McBride of Laurel and Jane Latta of Bedford, Ind.
She graduated from Lareine High School in 1976 and went on to graduate from the University of Maryland with a bachelor of arts degree in 1980.
She moved from Brandywine to St. Mary’s County in September 1996. She was a homemaker and former paralegal for the U.S. Department of Justice. She enjoyed crafting and shuffle bowling. She belonged to the ladies auxiliary for the Forestville Volunteer Fire Department in Upper Marlboro.
The family received friends and prayers were said July 29 at Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home in Leonardtown. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated July 30 at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church in Hollywood, with the Rev. Schmidt officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery. Pallbearers were David Martin, Michael Hampton, Timothy Brummitt, William Mattingly Jr., James Lloyd and Calvin Joy. Honorary pallbearers were Stuart “Doug” Insley, Charles Hinds, William Tarry and Dale Ridgell.
