Kevin J. Sexton, president and CEO of Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, received the 2012 Catholic Business Person of the Year Award on Aug. 6 from the Board of Directors of the Catholic Business Network of Montgomery County based in Bethesda.

The Silver Spring resident has been with Holy Cross since 1998 and has reconstituted the hospital’s physical plant, grown its volume, stabilized its financial performance and strengthened its quality and efficiency. Three health centers for uninsured and underinsured patients were established under his leadership, and prenatal care services for women without insurance were expanded during that time.

Sexton will be honored at a gala Nov. 16 at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel and Conference Center.
