Victoria Lucy “Vicki” Wilson, 65, of Rose Haven died Aug. 8, 2012, after many years of fighting chronic illnesses.

She was born Sept. 3, 1946, to F. Paul and Thelma Maeder.

She completed her education at Southern High School after her family relocated from Chevy Chase to Rose Haven. She married John William “Bill” Wilson Jr. of Friendship in 1963, and they raised two children in Rose Haven. She and her husband later divorced.

She was predominately a mom and homemaker. Over the years, she worked for a local marina and for her mother’s beauty salon, La Mer Beauty Salon, located in Rose Haven. She also worked in the pool and spa business. She loved her family and friends and made the most of every minute spent with them. She loved to laugh, dance and listen to music. She enjoyed traveling, camping and fishing, and was a devoted fan of the Washington Redskins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Paula Nowatski; and longtime partner, Hank Tayman.

She is survived by her children, Lucy M. and Billy Franklin of Friendship and B. Paul and Cindy Wilson of Dagsboro, Del.; grandchildren, Will and Zach Franklin and Sean and Abby Wilson; niece, Joanne Nowatski of Calvert County; her most recent traveling companion, Bill Disney; and many friends.

She requested her body be made available to the Maryland Anatomy Board for medical education and research.

Family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today, Aug. 15, at Rausch Funeral Home in Owings, where a memorial service will follow at 8 p.m.

A celebration of life will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, at her residence.
