Paul L. Herbert, 20, of Mechanicsville was jailed in lieu of $3,000 bond after his arrest last week on charging papers alleging he broke into his sister’s home and stole $253 in coins contained in a large plastic water bottle.

Herbert was charged with committing a first-degree burglary on Aug. 4 at the residence of Pamela Herbert and Lewis Oliver off Mechanicsville Road, through an investigation by sheriff’s deputy Steven Kerby.
