A 23-year-old man was killed Saturday after a vehicle overturned on top of him, and Maryland State Police Prince Frederick Barrack troopers are investigating.
At 1:15 a.m. Saturday, troopers responded to Market Square Shopping Center in Prince Frederick for a reported car accident, according to an MSP press release. Behind the shopping center, troopers found a silver 2005 Dodge 1500 truck had overturned.
Troopers said the driver of the truck was spinning wheels in the parking lot behind Salsarita’s Fresh Cantina, and as the truck spun in a circle, it hit a curb, which caused the truck to overturn.
Edward E. May, 23, of Port Republic, the passenger of the truck, was sitting on the window sill of the passenger door and was killed as the vehicle rolled onto the passenger’s side, troopers said.
The driver of the truck was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence, but charges have not yet been filed.
The MSP Crash Team responded to assist with the ongoing investigation.
