James Madison freshmen
The following area residents have enrolled at James Madison University, including Connor Keelan of La Plata who plans on majoring in athletic training, Kaitlyn Keyser of Waldorf who plans on majoring in athletic training, Gabrielle Miguelez of Hughesville who plans on majoring in health services administration, Megan Gerrity of Waldorf who plans on majoring in mathematics, Alexis Frye of Waldorf who plans on majoring in media arts and design and Jessica Smyth of Mechanicsville who plans on majoring in nursing.
Locals earn scholarships at Frostburg
Frostburg State University recently announced the following area students have received scholarships for study at the university, including Rachel Clark of Charlotte Hall who received the Quincy and Eugenia Crawford Scholarship. Clark is the daughter of Daniel and Judith Clark and attended La Plata High School. Tyler Clark of White Plains who received the Talent in the Arts Scholarship IV. Clark is the son of Jefferson and Beth Clark and attended Maurice J. McDonough High School. Nicholas Jamison of Waldorf who received the University Scholarship. Jamison is the son of Joe and Diane Jamison and attended Thomas Stone High School. Zachary Keeler of Waldorf who received the Academic Distinction Scholarship. Keeler is the son of Louis and Melody Keeler and attended North Point High School. Aaron Webb of White Plains who received the PNC College of Business Presidential Merit Scholar Award. Webb is the son of Shirlena Morgan and attended North Point; Geoffrey Westbrook of Mechanicsville who received the Music Aden Lewis Scholarship, Academic Distinction Scholarship and Talent in the Arts Scholarship IV. Westbrook is the son of Geoff Westbrook Sr. and attended Chopticon High School. And Jennifer Willingham of La Plata who received the Academic Honor Scholarship and Talent in the Arts Scholarship IV. Willingham is the daughter of Alice and John Willingham and attended McDonough High School.
