A 23-year-old Aquasco man was indicted on charges including sexual abuse of a minor after he allegedly exposed himself to a 13-year-old girl in June.

Willie A. Owens Jr. was arrested Aug. 14 and indicted Aug. 20 on charges of sexual abuse of a minor, third-degree sex offense, fourth-degree sex offense, second-degree assault and false imprisonment.

He is being held at the Calvert County Detention Center on $75,000 bond.

At 7 p.m. Aug. 3, Owens went to the Maryland State Police Prince Frederick Barrack and complained he was being accused of inappropriately touching a 13-year-old girl, which he denied doing, according to charging documents.

The girl was then taken to the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office by her mother, deputies said. The girl told deputies she was at a home on Sixes Road in Prince Frederick “in care and custody of adults on the property,” which included Owens, on June 22 or 23.

Owens asked to speak to the girl alone and took her to an unoccupied bedroom inside the house, charging documents state. Once inside the room, Owens allegedly “situated himself between her and the exit” and he then asked the girl to take off her pants, deputies said. He allegedly told the girl he “didn’t want to do anything, he just wanted to see her,” according to charging documents.

The girl told deputies she refused and tried to leave the room, but Owens “blocked the victim’s exit several times” by grabbing her arm or wrapping his arm around her waist to stop her from leaving, deputies said. Owens then allegedly exposed himself to the girl and forced her to touch him, charging documents state.

Deputies interviewed Owens, who initially denied having inappropriate contact with the girl. After about 20 minutes, Owens allegedly “changed his story and stated he was with the victim” and had exposed himself to her because the girl was taunting him, according to charging documents.
