Deputy state fire marshals are investigating a small fire set Friday evening in the garage of a Waldorf home.

The homeowner discovered the fire around 5 p.m.

Six firefighters from the Waldorf Volunteer Fire Department responded. It took them a minute to bring the fire under control.

No one was hurt. The fire caused an estimated $50 in damage to the garage’s contents but burned itself out before reaching any structural components.

Deputy state fire marshals determined someone had intentionally set clothing inside the garage on fire.

The investigation is ongoing.
