Dejwana Shonta Chavers, 30, of Cleveland has been released on personal recognizance following her arrest last week on charging papers alleging she cut a boyfriend’s arm with a butter knife during a struggle in a St. Mary’s motel room.
Chavers was charged with committing a first-degree assault on 30-year-old Earl Robert Brown during the Sept. 2 incident at Marriott Town Place Suites in Lexington Park, investigated by Trooper Wayne Couter of the Maryland State Police.
Brown had two red cuts on his arm with faint bleeding, court papers state, and Chavers told police that she was pushed to the ground while trying to get her overnight bag and leave.
