Jimmie Danial Cross, 78, Dunkirk
Jimmie Danial Cross, 78, of Dunkirk died Sept. 5, 2012, at home.
Born May 25, 1934, in Arno, Va., he was the son of the late Henry and the late Maude Rumley Cross.
Mr. Cross lived in Calvert County since 1977 and went to work at the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission in 1983, from which he retired. After his retirement he worked as a bailiff at the Prince George’s County Courthouse in Upper Marlboro.
He was also a member of the Prince Frederick Masonic Lodge. He loved his dog, Stormie. He enjoyed playing cards, traveling around the country and going to casinos.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Evelyn; son, Daniel; daughter, Debby; granddaughter, Rebekah; sisters, Peggy Gale of Pace, Fla., and Joyce Welch and her husband, Jim of Columbia, S.C.; and other relatives.
Visitation and a service were held Sept. 8 at Lee Funeral Home Calvert, Owings. Burial will take place at 1 p.m. Sept. 14 at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham.
