A woman in custody at the St. Mary’s jail was charged Wednesday with the illegal possession of oxycodone, alprazolam, morphine and methadone pills that court papers state were recovered during a strip search of her body.

A bench warrant was issued last month for the arrest of 35-year-old Marsha C. Wilkerson of Brandywine after she failed to appear in St. Mary’s District Court on charges from June of obtaining drugs with an altered prescription and having a concealed weapon, online court records state. A judge ordered Wednesday that Wilkerson be held in jail in lieu of 10 percent of $7,500 bond until the case’s new trial date in October.

When she was taken to jail, Wilkerson “did bring in several types of controlled dangerous substances into [the] secured facility by hiding the controlled dangerous substance in her body cavity,” according to a statement of probable cause filed by St. Mary’s narcotics detectives.
