A teenage girl was flown to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries Tuesday morning after being involved in a serious car crash on Malcolm Road in Brandywine.
The crash occurred around 6:30 a.m. when for unknown reasons a woman driving west in a Buick passenger car left the roadway and overcorrected, crossing the road’s double-yellow line before colliding with a Ford pickup truck, Charles County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Diane Richardson said.
The woman suffered serious injuries in the crash while her teenage passenger suffered critical, life-threatening injuries, Richardson said. Both were flown to Prince George’s Hospital Center in Cheverly.
The driver of the pickup was treated and released on the scene, Richardson said.
