Sandra Bessie Farrands, 65, of Mechanicsville died Sept. 16, 2012, at her residence.

Born Oct. 11, 1946, in Providence, R.I., she was the daughter of the late Mary Catherine Atkinson and Earl Richard Farrands.

The family will receive friends Thursday, Sept. 20, from 9 to 10 a.m. at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Laurel Grove, where a service will be held at 10 a.m.

Arrangements are being handled by Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home in Charlotte Hall.
