Police are investigating graffiti written on the Leonardtown Wharf bathroom walls. “Little positive sayings” were discovered written on the walls of the women’s room late last week and similar writings were found on the walls of the men’s bathroom Sept. 19, according to a town official. A police spokesperson said the graffiti included the letters “SKQU,” which matches other incidents of vandalism in St. Mary’s County. Flags have also been stolen from the town, most recently earlier this summer, and a historical sign was destroyed recently. The town council in July voted to increase the number of security cameras at the park.
