Brendan Douglas Carr, 29, of Bryantown remained in St. Mary’s jail this week in lieu of $3,000 bond after his arrest on charges of first-degree arson and a property destruction offense filed by state authorities investigating a fire last month in a woman’s tents at a wooded area in Lexington Park.

The fire destroying the tents and clothing belonging to Jeannine Mazza was set on Aug. 3 after she left the area off South Shangri-La Drive amid an argument, state authorities report from the investigation by deputy state fire marshal Melissa Bean.
