Teenager jailed in book store robbery
A judge ordered Wednesday that Dontevious Trevon Dorsey, 18, of Lexington Park be held in jail in lieu of $10,000 bond on charging papers alleging he took part in an armed robbery on Sept. 13 at a book store in Lexington Park.
Two culprits holding handguns covered by T-shirts went into Plaza Books at North Shangri-La Drive and demanded money from store employee Angela Maloof, who gave them $270, according to court papers filed by St. Mary’s detective Sarah Russell. One of the robbers also went behind the store’s counter, court papers state, and stole several packs of Bizarro incense, valued at $1,248.
Dorsey was taken into custody this week after police reviewed surveillance video from the business, showed photographs to county school employees and compared the suspect’s photos on social media to Motor Vehicle Administration photos, the detective wrote in a charges application.
No other arrests have been reported in the ongoing investigation.
