Officers are investigating a possible Saturday morning assault on Sextant Place in Waldorf, the Charles County Sheriff’s Office reported.

Police responded at 2:34 a.m. to the 10400 block after someone reported hearing gunshots.

Officers did not find any evidence of a shooting, but they did meet a man who said he and a friend were at a party on Sextant Place when a fight broke out and both were hit in the head with an object.

The man was treated for a minor injury. His friend had left the scene prior to the officers’ arrival.
