Debra Berard Krahling and Dale Robert Krahling announce the engagement of their daughter, Devin Michele Krahling, to Eugene Frank Mack, who grew up in Curacao, son of Frank Todd Mack and Nancy Joy Chapman.
With his great-grandmotherís ring, Gene proposed to Devin on the beach at Piscataway Park, with Mount Vernon in the view.
Family and friends from around the world shared the moment, sitting on the rocks at the park or viewing from Google chat.
The couple then canoed the Potomac River under the moon, dining on sushi.
The bride-to-be earned a degree as a registered nurse from the College of Southern Maryland. She is a valedictorian graduate of the Kirov Academy of Ballet in Washington, D.C., and recently completed a school of biblical studies with Youth With A Mission in Kona, Hawaii.
She is employed at INOVA.
The groom-to-be earned a bachelorís in Latin American studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
He is operations manager for Campus Harvest and involved with Every Nation Campus Ministries.
The couple is active as Christian missionaries, both in the United States and abroad.
A wedding is planned for December at the Old Waldorf School, home of the Ballet Arts Academy.
