Theodore Roosevelt Bush, 77, Chaptico

Theodore Roosevelt Bush, 77, of Chaptico died Aug. 4, 2012, at MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital, Leonardtown.

Born Nov. 23, 1934, in Mechanicsville, he was the son of the late Elinor Bush and the late Samuel Gross.

Mr. Bush was educated in St. Mary’s County public schools. After high school, he was employed by Benny Asher Construction Co. where he continued to work until 1985 when his health no longer allowed him.

He was a member of Living Hope First United Pentecostal Church in Lexington Park. He coached softball, played baseball, hunted, fished and worked in his garden.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Joseph Frederick Bush; and sisters, Christine Wilson-Curtis and her husband, Eugene.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Delores Bush, whom he married Nov. 15, 1958; daughters, Agnes, Mary Magdalene and her husband, Calvin King, Deborah and her husband, Joseph Johnson, Francene and her husband, Israel Cruz, and Tier; sons, Theodore Christopher and Kelvin Scott and his wife, Courtney; sisters, Lorraine Gray and her husband, Joseph, and Odessa Curtis and her husband, Rosco; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; special friend, John Frank Briscoe Jr.; and many other relatives.

Visitation and a service were held Aug. 10 at Living Hope First United Pentecostal Church. Burial took place at Charles Memorial Gardens, Leonardtown.

Arrangements were handled by Briscoe-Tonic Funeral Home, Mechanicsville.
