Susan Marie Salviejo, 62, White Plains
Susan Marie Salviejo, 62, of White Plains died Sept. 30, 2012, at Washington Hospital Center, Washington, D.C.
Born Dec. 13, 1949, in Toledo, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Ervin C. Briggs and the late Rose Marie Briggs.
At 19, she came to the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area for employment as a clerk for the Federal Bureau of Investigations. She also worked as a bookkeeper for various companies, achieved the position of chief financial officer for William C. Smith & Cos. and transitioned to be the accountant of its nonprofit organization The ARC of Washington, D.C. She was a member of St. Peterís Catholic Church in Waldorf and the Republican Womenís Committee. She was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling and loved to be with her family, especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Salviejo Jr.; brothers, Charles and William Briggs; and sister, Linda Meeker.
She is survived by her son, George F. Powell Jr.; daughter, Cecelia Sage; stepchildren, Julie and Michael Salviejo, Kathleen Jauschnegg and William Muscovich; sister, Debbie Rowland; grandchildren, Brendan, Savannah, Sophia Sage, Amber Powell and Ashley Seaver; and many other relatives.
A service was held Oct. 4 at St. Peterís Catholic Church. Burial was private.
Pallbearers were family and friends.
Arrangements were handled by Johnson Funeral Service, White Plains.
