Rena Elsie Fallin, 96, Port Tobacco
Rena Elsie Fallin, 96, of Port Tobacco died Oct. 3, 2012, at Genesis HealthCare, La Plata.
Born Feb. 14, 1916, in Green Cove, Va., she was the daughter of the late Will Walls and the late Delillah Hurley.
She was the most hospitable “mom” to all who knew her. She was prize-winning gardener, canner and homemaker. She was active in the Baptist church. She also served as worthy matron in the Eastern Star Electa Chapter in Washington, D.C.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of more than 50 years, Wayland Fallin.
She is survived by her sons, Wayne W. Fallin and his wife, Georgia, of Lothian, William Fallin and his wife, Kathie, of Newburg, Roger D. Fallin and his wife, Donna, of La Plata and Creig Fallin and his wife, Julie, of White Plains; daughters, Barbara Miller and her husband, Dave, of Albuquerque, N.M., and Patricia S. Wagner and her husband, Ray, of Waldorf; sister, Beatrice Barr; 18 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Oct. 5 at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, Charlotte Hall. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Oct. 6 at First Baptist Church of La Plata, La Plata. The Rev. Wendell Stokes will officiate. Burial will take place at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Suitland.
Pallbearers will be her sons, Wayne, William, Roger and Creig Fallin, and grandsons, Roger Jr. and Jason Fallin.
