Rena Elsie Fallin, 96, of Port Tobacco died Oct. 3, 2012, at Genesis Healthcare in La Plata.
She was born Feb. 14, 1916, in Green Cove, Va. to the late Will Walls and Delillah Hurley.
She was the most hospitable “mom” to all who knew her. She was a prize-winning gardener, canner and homemaker. She was very active in the Baptist church. She also was Worthy Matron in the eastern Star Electa chapter in Washington, D.C.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband of more than 50 years, Wayland Fallin.
She is survived by her sons, Wayne W. Fallin and his wife, Georgia, of Lothian, William Fallin and his wife, Kathie, of Newburg, Roger D. Fallin and his wife, Donna, of La Plata, Creig Fallin and his wife, Julie, of White Plains; daughters, Barbara Miller and her husband, Dave, of Albuquerque, N.M., and Patricia S. Wagner and her husband, Ray, of Waldorf; sister, Beatrice Barr; 18 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today, Oct. 5, at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home in Charlotte Hall.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, at Baptist Church of La Plata, with the Rev. Wendell Stokes officiating.
Interment will immediately follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Suitland.
Pallbearers will be her sons, Wayne, William, Roger and Creig Fallin; and grandsons, Roger Jr. and Jason Fallin.
