Special education teachers Kelly Egan, left, and Sarah Massie play with Abby Snyder, 4, of Hollywood at the Benjamin Banneker Elementary School early childhood fair on Sept. 27. The sixth annual fair for children ages birth to 5 addressed communication, basic concepts, reading, motor skills, technology and other areas to teach families how to help in their child’s development. Parents left the fair with free toys, books and written information about early child development thanks to partner agencies, including the Promise Center, Partners for Success, Citizens Advisory Committee for Special Education, and St. Mary’s County Public Library. More than 40 families attended.
