This past Monday, our volleyball program improved our record to 7-0 by defeating Chopticon in three sets.

We have yet to even lose a set this season and it is our goal to not even drop one. Another goal we have set for ourselves is to not let up in any of the sets, in other words, no slump.

Before every home match, the team parents prepare the team a pregame meal. We value this time very much because it prepares us for our match by giving us energy and helps us bond as a team.

Over the next few weeks, we will experience the most difficult part of our schedule with playing Patuxent and La Plata as well as the Reservoir Gator Invitational on Oct. 13. We will be playing tough Howard County teams, which will expose us to new competition.

Our team is planning on taking a bonding trip to Kings Dominion in late October. This will be a great chance to get closer as a team and to help our game on the court.

Since we play our home games at our home away from home at Calvert Middle School, we are promoting our games by giving free pizza to student fans and raffling off a free student pass.

Last week we got new spandex and team T-shirts. We are hoping that our new jerseys come in soon because they are nice Under Armour, long sleeves that will give us hardcore swagger.

Now that is October, we would like to raise breast cancer awareness and help support the cause to find a cure.

Why did the volleyball cross the court? Because it went out.

Winnerís donít wait for chances, they take them.

Work hard, play hard. Calvert Volleyball.
