Anthony Joseph “Tony” Mileo, 74, of Huntingtown, formerly of Bowie, died Oct. 3, 2012.

He was born June 11, 1938, to Anthony and Bessie Mileo of Washington, D.C.

He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Forrestal for four years. He then joined the Prince George’s County Police Department where he served for 28 years before retiring. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police No. 89. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed attending horse races. However, nothing was as important to him as spending time with his family and attending all of his grandchildren’s activities.

He is survived by his companion of 30 years, Sharon Nomikos; children, Anthony M. and his wife, Sandy Mileo, Kelli and her husband, Billy Stewart, and Jessica and her husband, Roscoe Jones; grandchildren, Carmen and Zac Mileo, Alyssa, Ashley and Alayna Stewart, Duke Marlowe and Dominic and Sophia Jones; siblings, Dolores and her husband, Frank Orendorf, Michael and his wife, Louise, and Vince Mileo.

Family received friends Oct. 9 at Lee Funeral Home Calvert in Owings, where services will be at 10 a.m. today, Oct. 10.

Inurnment will follow at Chesapeake Highland Memorial Gardens.
