Christopher A. Pettis, 52, Bel Alton
Christopher A. “Chris” Pettis, 52, of Bel Alton died Sept. 26, 2012.
Born Dec. 9, 1959, in Springfield, Tenn., he was the son of the late James E. and the late Mary D.A. Pettis.
Mr. Pettis grew up in Charles County, where he graduated from Lackey High School in 1977. After graduating, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. After receiving an honorable discharge he went to work for the town of La Plata as a sanitation worker for 18 years. After leaving there, he went to work for G&M Towing, where he worked for many years as a maintenance man. He had a passion for detailing automobiles and listening to music and he had the gift of gab.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents.
He is survived by his brothers, Leroy Chase and his wife, Brenda Chase and Troy Pettis and his wife, Deneen Pettis; and many other relatives.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Oct. 12 at the Heart Church Ministries, Suitland. Burial will take place at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham.
