The Tri-County Animal Shelter receives hundreds of cats each month, and many of the animals are in need of a good home.
Take a trip to the shelter Thursday through Saturday this month and adopt a cat for free.
Adopters must meet the shelter’s adoption requirements.
Many of the cats at the shelter are victims of circumstance, according to a news release.
Their owners had to move, they were no longer allowed to have pets or they could no longer afford another animal to feed.
The shelter is at 6707 Animal Shelter Road in Hughesville.
Call 301-932-1713 or 800-903-1992.
Adoption hours are noon to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
To view animals available for adoption, go to www.charlescountymd.gov/es/animalcontrol/animal-control or www.petfinder.com/shelters/MD112.html.
