Don’t miss the excitement of Encore Musical Dinner Theatre at noon Saturday, Nov. 3, at Calvert Pines Senior Center. Encore is an upbeat, high-stepping show with the best popular songs ever. The show will feature more than 30 songs from the 1930s to the 1950s. Walk down memory lane with songs like “The Loco-Motion,” “The Twist,” “When the Saints Go Marching In” and “Let Me Call You Sweetheart.” The $27 fee includes the show and a catered lunch of mango apple chicken, wild rice, green beans, garden salad, rolls and an assortment of cookies. Tax-Aide volunteers needed
The AARP Tax-Aide program sponsored by the Calvert County Office on Aging is looking for volunteers to serve as tax counselors to prepare, review and e-file 2012 tax returns at each of the three senior centers in 2013. Volunteers can give a few hours a week or more, if desired. All Tax-Aide volunteers will be required to pass the IRS and Maryland certification tests. Try men’s bridge every first and third Thursday of each month at 9 a.m. The next game will be Thursday, Oct. 18.

Tour Landis Valley’s Historic Village and Farm Museum, decked out in traditional holiday decorations, Wednesday, Nov. 28. After the tour, dine on a sumptuous Penn Dutch holiday meal in the historic 1856 Landis Valley House Hotel. The $67 fee includes transportation, tour and lunch.
