Thomas R. Johnson, 76, La Plata

Thomas R. “Tommy” Johnson, 76, of La Plata died Oct. 9, 2012 at the Piedmont Hospice Center, Greenwood, S.C.

Born Dec. 19, 1935, he was the son of the late Philip “Roy” Johnson and the late Sarah Savoy Johnson.

He was educated in the Charles County public school system and later moved to Washington, D.C.

He is survived by his wife, Pauline Johnson; children; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; brothers; and other family members.

Visitation will be held from 2-3 p.m. Oct. 14 at the Butler & Son Funeral Home, Saluda, S.C. A service will be held at 10 a.m. Oct. 15 at the Liberty Springs Baptist Church, Edgefield, S.C. Burial will take place at the Living Springs Cemetery, Edgefield County, Edgefield.
