“Get Connected” is a Web-based platform from Charles County United Way that matches donors, advocates and volunteers with opportunities in local neighborhoods.
Use “Get Connected” to get in touch with nonprofits in Charles County by filtering the list of organizations by the issues they address and then clicking an agency’s link.
Users also can find ways to give back and serve a neighborhood by clicking needs and learning about opportunities to give unused materials and household items to agencies in need of donations, advocate for causes that need a passionate voice, volunteer time in ways that make a difference or work for an agency.
Users can respond to or share needs through the system, invite users to join in searching for ways to give back, check out events happening in the community and create an account so “Get Connected” can personalize and highlight service opportunities.
The site went online Sept. 25.
