The Barber Lounge for Men will open Oct. 19 with a ribbon-cutting in Westchester at the Pavilions at 3560 Malvern St. in Waldorf
The Charles County Chamber of Commerce will help welcome the new business. The facility is the first upscale gentleman’s barbershop in Southern Maryland, according to a news release from the business.
“The masculine environment really resonates with our customers who want top-quality services at an affordable price point but without the feminine frills of a salon,” co-owner Sharon Harper said in the release. “We have authentic chrome and leather barber chairs and barbers who take great pride in their profession. Men can come to the Barber Lounge for Men and get high-quality, luxury spa services that are usually only available at shops that cater to women.”
“It reminds me of the place my Dad used to take me when I was a kid,” co-owner Donna Jenkins said in the release. “My dad enjoyed that environment, and Sharon and I want the Barber Lounge for Men to have the same feel, with additional luxuries that men cannot access in a traditional barber shop environment. Our goal is to create an atmosphere where men can swap stories, discuss the latest news, catch the game on TV or just come to hang out.”
The barbershop has high-definition TVs viewable throughout the business.
Haircuts; hot lather, straight-razor shaves; and other traditional barber services will be offered. In an effort to enhance the barbershop experience, patrons also can get manicures, facials, massages, shoe shine services and grooming products.
