The Charles County Sheriff’s Office will offer electronic fingerprinting services to comply with recent changes made by the FBI, and starting next month, the sheriff’s office will expand the hours in which fingerprinting services are offered.
Beginning Nov. 1, fingerprinting services will be conducted as follows, unless it is a federal holiday, in which case the office is closed.
-Monday, noon to 5:30 p.m., electronic prints only;
-Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., electronic prints only, 4 to 6:30 p.m., electronic and inked/rolled prints;
-Wednesday, noon to 5:30 p.m., electronic prints only;
-Thursday, 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., electronic prints only, 4 to 6:30 p.m., electronic and inked/rolled prints.
Starting Nov. 1, the cost of each card or electronic Live-Scan session will be $15.
Other fees for services the sheriff’s office provides are:
-Full background for state and federal authorized agencies, $34.50;
-Child Care Volunteer, $33;
-State background check, $18;
-State background check with gold seal, $19;
-Attorney/client civil, $18.
The sheriff’s office accepts only cash or money orders.
Money orders should be made payable to the Charles County Sheriff’s Office.

Individuals must present a government-issued photo ID.
Individuals requesting fingerprinting services will need to bring the background check form and the employer’s authorization number, which is printed by the employer.
The Charles County Sheriff’s Office Fingerprinting Unit is at the St. Charles Towne Center mall at 11110 Mall Circle in Waldorf. The office is on the second floor, just outside of Dick’s Sporting Goods.
