St. Maryís public schools and the College of Southern Marylandís Cause Theatre will present selected scenes from the play ďA Raisin in the SunĒ by Lorraine Hansberry in all high schools.
The play is an approved reading for all high school students, and the production is designed to augment diversity lessons being taught in all local public schools. The productions are also intended to expand the character education of students, teaching them the importance of diversity and tolerance.
The community theater productions will be presented at 6 p.m. in the auditorium of the schools on the following dates: Oct. 26 at Chopticon High School; Nov. 2 at Leonardtown High School; and Nov. 19 at Great Mills High School. The productions are open to the public and are free.
