Mollie D. Gorney has become an associate of her fatherís law firm, James J. Gorney P.C., based in La Plata.
Mollie is a graduate of Westlake High School, Towson University and Thomas M. Cooley Law School.
She graduated from Thomas M. Cooley Law School magna cum laude with a concentration in litigation. While at Cooley, she served on the moot court and mock trial boards, was a member of the Thomas M. Cooley Law Review and competed in the intraschool and national moot court competitions.
She interned as a law clerk for Judge David W. McKeague of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and was inducted into the National Order of Scribes upon graduation for her skills in legal research and writing.
She was previously employed as an assistant public defender for the Maryland Office of the Public Defender in Charles County.
Mollie Gorney is licensed to practice law in Maryland and Virginia. She is expected to continue to practice in the area of criminal defense.
