Mildred Marie Gibson, 68, of Lexington Park died Aug. 30, 2012, in Washington, D.C.
She was born Sept. 6, 2012, in Washington, D.C., to the late John and Lillian Staples.
She had lived in the Southern Maryland area for 15 years and had been employed as a receptionist at Malcolm Grow Medical Center at Joint Base Andrews. She enjoyed playing the slots, bingo and bowling.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Robert; son, Robert of Great Mills; daughters, Cindy Wedding and her husband, Victor, of Lusby and Barbara Thomas and her husband, Roger, of Great Mills; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sept. 5 at Raymond-Wood Funeral Home in Dunkirk with the Rev. Ralph Nevin of the First Baptist Church in Prince Frederick officiating.
Interment followed at Chesapeake Highlands Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were Victor Wedding, Roger “Suane” Thomas, Michael Flaherty, Harry Swann Alex Gross and Ray Schulman.
