The latest addition to a juvenile fiction series co-written by a New Market resident has been released.
Kathleen Weller of New Market — with Barbara Beadles of Silver Spring — wrote “See Eye A: Case of the Freaky Flu,” the third book in the See Eye A series.
“We’re both very excited about [the book],” Weller said.
The 87-page book, which was released Oct. 16, follows the main character Joey who contracts the flu while completing a science project about the virus. Meanwhile a fictional detective agency representing Joey’s immune system is dispatched to find and stop the virus.
Through the book readers also are given tips on flu prevention.
“It kind of shows kids how your body heals and how it works,” Weller said.
Published by Tate Publishing and Enterprises, the book is available through bookstores nationwide, as well as online through barnesnoble.com and amazon.com.
Weller, a registered nurse for more than 20 years, and Beadles also are the authors of “See Eye A: Case of the Blue Cast” published in 2010 and “See Eye A: Case of the Terrible Tremors,” released in April.
“We’ve gotten so many good responses [about the series],” Weller said.
The two are currently working on the fourth book “See Eye A: Case of the Ice Cold Concussion,” which Weller said probably won’t be available to the public until next year.
