JoAnn Burleson Dardin, 84, of St. Leonard, died Nov. 5, 2012, at Calvert Memorial Hospital.

She was born Sept. 30, 1928, in Marion County, Ark., to the late Elza Pierce and Pearl Cunningham Burleson.

She worked for Calvert County Public Schools from 1965 to 1972 as a teacherís aide. She and her husband also ran the JAD Center in St. Leonard, which was an antique store from 1984 to 2003.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jefferson A. Dardin Jr.; daughter, Lynnette Snyder; and son, Jefferson A. Dardin III.

She is survived by her children, Deann Bowen of St. Leonard, Jane Dardin-Burns of Carolina Beach, N.C., June Dardin of St. Leonard and Lisa Tettimer of Port Republic; grandchildren, Brad Posey Jr., Jodi Posey, Rebecca Posey, Christa Sirko, Jarrett Hess, Jennifer Bishop, Shellyn Brown, Ashley Dutton, Josh Tettimer and Matt Tettimer; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Family received friends Nov. 8 at Rausch Funeral Home in Port Republic, and will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the service at 11 a.m. today, Nov. 9.

Interment will follow at Wesley Cemetery.
