William Michael Taylor, 24, of Baltimore's Brooklyn community, was jailed without bond this week in St. Mary's on charging papers alleging he broke into a Mechanicsville residence last month, damaging a glass door, and stole boxes of jewelry valued at $400.

Taylor was charged with committing a first-degree burglary on Oct. 8 at Theresa Payne's home at Beverly Estates, through an investigation by detective Sarah Russell.

Taylor later sold the jewelry to The Gold Market 2 business in Waldorf, court papers state, where the items were recovered and identified by their owner.

Taylor was jailed earlier this month on charges from another burglary in St. Mary's, and the investigation determined that the suspect committed the offenses during a period when he was “serving weekends at the Anne Arundel County Detention Center for similar crimes,” Russell wrote in a charges application.
