Thank you to the many corporations, local businesses and individuals who, despite challenging economic times, generously donated their time, products and services, and more than $54,000 to support the Marine Corps Aviation Association John Glenn Squadron scholarship program at our annual golf tournament Sept. 13.

One-hundred percent of net tournament proceeds go to support the scholarship program that, since its inception in 2007, has awarded 45 merit-based scholarships totaling $183,500 to local, tri-county area high school seniors who have pursued a STEM-based degree and shown an intent to work in a career field supporting Naval aviation after graduation.

Our scholarship program would not succeed without the generous support and contributions this year from: American Electronics, AM Pierce & Associates, Applied Techniques Corp., ATK, AVIAN Engineering BAE Systems, Barefoot Graphics, Bell Helicopter Textron, Blue Wind Gourmet, Boeing, Pat Bowling Memoriam, Bozick Distributors, Brandes Association, Cedar Point Credit Union, Cheeseburger in Paradise, Chick-Fil-A, Paul and Carol Choporis, Camber Corp., DAU Mid-Atlantic Alumni Association, DCS Corp., Deloitte, Dial & Associates, East Custom Golf, Elbit, GDIT, General Electric, Hair Co., Heaven & Earth Medi Spa, Hilton Garden Inn in Solomans, Imagine One Technology & Management, Island Inn & Suites, Jahn Corp., Lockheed Martin, ManTech Systems Engineering & AT Group, Mattedi Gallery, Maximum Health & Fitness, MCAA National, Miss Susie Charters, Navy Federal Credit Union, Nicoletti’s Pizza, Northrop-Grumman Corp., OSI, Paragon, Pink Beach, Pratt & Whitney, Precise Systems, Rockwell-Collins, Rolls-Royce, Saddle Butte Systems, Shackleton Group, Sikorsky Aircraft Corp., Starbucks, StraCon Services Group, Tekla Research, TownePlace Suites by Marriott, Valour Edge, Victorian Candle Bed and Breakfast, Washington National Distributors, Wyle Labs, World Gym and Woodlawn Inn.
