Prince George’s police are trying find the person responsible for fatally shooting a 20-year-old early Sunday in Lewisdale.

According to county police, around 1:25 a.m. officers responded to the intersection of Charleston Place and Drexel Street for the report of a shooting.

In the single-family home neighborhood they found 20-year-old Edwin Alexander Lainez-Noyola of the 7300 block of 23rd Avenue in Lewisdale suffering from a gunshot wound.

Lainez-Noyola was transported to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Police are now trying to develop suspects and determine a motive in the case, which is under investigation.

County police are asking anyone with information about the incident to call the department’s homicide unit at 301-772-4925 or Crime Solvers at 866-411-TIPS to remain anonymous.

A phone number for Lainez-Noyola’s residence could not be located.
