Paul Thomas Swan, 72, Waldorf
Paul Thomas Swan 72, of Waldorf died Nov. 8, 2012, at the Southern Maryland Hospital Center, Clinton.
Born March 7, 1940, in Washington, D.C., he was the son of the late Edward Swan and the late Corinne Doome Swan.
He worked at Frank’s Nursery and Crafts then Home Depot in Waldorf, as an appliance specialist. He enjoyed traveling the world, spending almost two years in Egypt with the peace-keeping force in the Sinai desert. He and his wife traveled to New York, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Niagara Falls, Bahamas, St. Martin and the East Indies. He also enjoyed watching the Washington Redskins and old movies. He collected comic books and enjoyed playing pool and basketball. But most of all he enjoyed spending time at home with his wife and grandson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his children, Richard Swan and Leslie Perry; and brother, Richard Swan.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Swan; grandson, Dale Mohler; cousins, Carol Gibson, Tim Edwards and Sandy Edwards; and special friends, Michael Windsor, Billy Larecy, Robin Pauly, Lisa Dyson, Paulette Whitehead, Jim Barnes and Oscar Perry.
Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until time of celebration of life service at 3 p.m. Nov. 14 at Arehart-Echols Funeral Home, La Plata. Burial is private.
