Jennieve Gillooly, 90, Bryans Road

Jennieve “Jennie” Gillooly, 90, of Bryans Road died Nov. 7, 2012, at home.

Born Nov. 22, 1921, in Wickliffe, Ky., she was the daughter of the late William Louis Daniel and the late Daisy Mae Arrington.

She was a great example to her family. She loved to laugh, dance, sing and spend time with her family. She grew up in the Great Depression. She graduated from George Washington University with a degree in business administration. She worked for National Science Foundation in Washington, D.C., as a program assistant of government grants for science expeditions.

She had Alzheimer’s. Her son, Greg devoted his time unselfishly to take care of her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Gillooly; son, Jeffrey Gillooly; and identical twin sister, Lennieve Green.

She is survived by her children, Christy Ford and her spouse, Freddie of Montevallo, Ala., Michael Gillooly and his spouse, Fiona of Crofton, Dennis Gillooly and his spouse, Nancy of Waldorf, Patricia Hawkins of Asheville, N.C., Janet Gillooly of Owings, Gregory Gillooly of Bryans Road and Sheila Batchelder and her spouse, Ronald of Linthicum; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. with a memorial service at 7 p.m. Nov. 15 at Briscoe-Tonic Funeral Home, Waldorf. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Nov. 16 at St. Mary, Star of the Sea Catholic Church, Indian Head. Burial will take place at St. Charles Cemetery, Glymont.
