A man is dead after he was struck by multiple gunshots in Mount Rainier on Nov. 14, and police are now seeking possible suspects.
According to Mount Rainier police, officers responded to the 2800 block of 37th Street around 4:40 a.m. after an anonymous caller reported hearing the sound of gunshots.
Mount Rainier Police Chief Michael Scott said officers arrived roughly one minute after the report and found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He said paramedics were called to the scene and the man was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Mount Rainier is a roughly 8,000-resident municipality bordering northeast Washington, D.C. Scott said 37th Street is part of a residential community, where the shooting appears to have taken place.
Prince George’s County homicide detectives are now seeking possible suspects.
Cpl. Larry Johnson, a county police spokesman, said there were no updates in the case as of Monday afternoon and the victim’s identity has not yet been released.
