A judge ordered Friday that Michael Alan Littleton, 35, of Fairmont, W.Va., be held in St. Mary's jail in lieu of $7,500 bond on charging papers alleging he stole more than $5,000 from an automobile dealership where he used to work by pocketing customers' car payments.
Littleton stole 14 payments totaling $1,950 that Samantha Sabrina Ramirez gave to him, charging papers allege, between August 2011 and last April at a convenience store parking lot, and she expected the cash would go toward her account at Aldridge and Earley Auto Sales in Lexington Park.
Littleton, who also has a Lexington Park address, was charged with stealing an additional $3,726 last year from the dealership, court papers state, by taking car payments made, also at locations not on the business' grounds, by Buffy Moore, Shadida Shabazz, James Butler and Tashara Johnson.
In addition, Littleton was charged with stealing 83.5 carats in diamonds valued at $8,912 on Aug. 13 from a jewelry-repair area at T.C. Martin Jewelers in Charlotte Hall, and stealing $360 six days later at Blair's Jewelry and Gifts by selling the diamonds to that business.
