A 14-year-old girl who was reported missing Monday evening was found by law enforcement within less than an hour due to help from the public.
At 8:48 p.m. Monday, Amber L. Delong, 14, was reported missing. The Calvert County Sheriff’s Office sent out a Nixle alert, a message sent to cellphones via text, stating that Delong was last seen that morning at 10 a.m. The alert said Delong is white, is about 5-feet, 3-inches tall and weighs about 110 pounds.
Lt. Steve Jones of the sheriff’s office said due to calls received from the public after the Nixle alert was sent out, Delong was found in the Lusby area at 9:23 p.m.
“Thank you to the public for the phone calls received that assisted law enforcement in locating the juvenile in about a one-hour period,” Jones said.
