The following is a summary of incidents in the Bethesda area to which Montgomery County police responded recently. The words “arrested” and “charged” do not imply guilt. This information was provided by the county.

Aggravated Assault

ź On Oct. 23 at 4:45 p.m. in the 7000 block of Old Stage Road, Rockville. During a dispute, the known suspect threatened the victim with a weapon.

ź On Oct. 26 at 11:10 a.m. at Saratoga Avenue and Merivale Road, Bethesda. The suspects attempted to assault the victim.

Armed Robbery and Carjacking

ź On Oct. 31 at 2:10 p.m. in the 11200 block of Rockville Pike, Rockville. The suspect threatened the victims with a weapon, obtained property and then left in the victim’s vehicle.

Commercial Burglary

ź On Oct. 24 at 2 a.m. at DryClean Expo, 11130 Rockville Pike, Rockville. Attempted forced entry, took nothing.

ź Overnight between Oct. 28 and 29 at 5530 Wisconsin Avenue, Chevy Chase. Forced entry, took property.

ź On Oct. 29 at 6:45 a.m. at Lightning Wear, 10580 Metropolitan Avenue, Kensington. Attempted forced entry, took nothing.

Residential Burglary

ź 5400 block of Grove Ridge Way, North Bethesda, between 9:30 a.m. and 8 p.m. Oct. 23. Forced entry, took property.

ź 5300 block of King Charles Way, North Bethesda, between 8 a.m. and noon Oct. 24. Unforced entry, took property.

ź 5200 block of Alta Vista Road, Bethesda, at 9:30 a.m. Oct. 26. A suspect posing as a water utility worker entered the elderly victim’s house under the guise of checking pipes in the basement. The elderly victim escorted the suspect into the basement, but shortly thereafter heard a noise coming from upstairs. The victim later discovered property missing.

ź 6100 block of Clearwood Road, Bethesda, between 3:20 and 3:50 p.m. Oct. 27. Unknown means of entry, took property.

Vehicle Larceny

ź Seven incidents in the Bethesda-Chevy Chase area, all but one involved unsecured vehicles. The primary targeted items included laptops, iPods and cash. Four of the events occurred during the same overnight period between Oct. 24 and 25 along Cumberland Avenue. Other affected streets included the 4600 block of Bayard Boulevard, 5200 block of Baltimore Avenue and the intersection of North Park and Willard avenues.

ź Two incidents overnight between Oct. 23 and 24 in the 11300 and 11400 blocks of Rokeby Avenue, Garrett Park. Forced entry, took wallets.
