St. Jane Frances de Chantal Church is hosting the Apollo Chamber Orchestra on Friday at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free.
The concert will feature vocal selections from Porgy & Bess by George Gershwin, prelude and Liebestod from Tristan and Isolde by Richard Wagner, Symphony No. 5 by Peter Tchaikovsky, and Battle Hymn of the Republic, honoring our United States veterans. It will also feature special guests Alison Buchanan, a soprano from Covent Garden and the New York City Opera, and Kenneth Kellogg of Washington National Opera Domingo-Cafritz Young Artist Alum.
The Apollo Chamber Orchestra provides a platform for Washington, D.C. area’s finest young professional musicians. Many players are recent graduates of major music schools from around the world. They join forces with accomplished opera singers and vibrant instrumental soloists.
This concert is made possible by a grant from The Downing Family Foundation. Donations for St. Jane Frances de Chantal Church will be accepted. The church is at 9601 Old Georgetown Road in Bethesda.
