Louise Smith Rostick, 81, Clinton
Louise Smith Rostick, 81, of Clinton died Nov. 8, 2012, in Clinton.
Born July 1, 1931, in Fayetteville, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Liston Smith and the late Lottie Cousar.
She met her husband, the late Staff Sgt. John A. Rostick at Fort Bragg, N.C., and they were married in May 1947. She enjoyed being a military wife and traveling around the world. She was very active and enjoyed ceramics, sewing, needlepoint, knitting, gardening and fishing. She loved soulful music.
She went to cosmetology school and received her manager’s license in 1967; she attended the Washington Hospital Center school and received a nursing degree. She was a member of the Eastern Star in Montgomery, Ala.
She was a devoted wife and loving mother.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Paul Smith.
She is survived by her daughter, Dolores Rostick; son, John Rostick Jr.; grandson, Ronnie Rostick; nephews, Chesley, Callie, Gregory, Daryl, Anthony and Christopher; nieces, Kathy, Debbie, Linda, Cheryl and Deedee; and many other relatives.
Visitation and a service were held Nov. 14 at Briscoe-Tonic Funeral Home, Waldorf. Burial took place at Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton.
